OCULA is growing our local Locum Optometrist pool across our Queenstown and Wānaka practices, and we’d love to hear from Optometrists already based in the region who are looking for some extra flexibility in their working week.

Whether you’re looking for the occasional day, regular locum work, or something in between, we’d love to have you as part of our trusted OCULA locum network.

Why OCULA?

OCULA is a growing, independent optometry group with a focus on exceptional clinical care, beautiful eyewear and a genuinely great patient experience.

Our Queenstown and Wānaka practices offer modern, boutique environments where you can focus on what you do best — providing excellent optometry and building strong patient relationships.

You’ll be supported by experienced and friendly teams, with access to modern equipment and a practice environment that values clinical autonomy and quality care.

We’re looking for:

  • Registered Optometrists already based in the Queenstown, Wānaka or surrounding Central Otago region
  • Optometrists who are confident working independently
  • Someone who genuinely cares about delivering exceptional patient care
  • A friendly, adaptable team player
  • Availability for occasional or regular locum work

Why join our locum pool?

It’s a great opportunity to keep things flexible, pick up additional days when it suits you, and work across two beautiful OCULA practices with supportive local teams.

We’re looking to build a strong pool of local Optometrists we can call on when our practices need additional cover — whether that’s for holidays, leave, busy periods or unexpected gaps.

Already local and interested in working with OCULA?

We’d love to hear from you.
