Line Mechanic

McKay is expanding our Street Lighting and Infrastructure capability in the Wellington region. We are recruiting for a qualified Distribution Line Mechanic or a qualified Electrician with Street-lighting experience to join our high-performing team and play a key role in developing a strong pipeline of work.
In this role, you’ll be involved in a diverse range of projects - from large-scale street lighting installations to commercial and industrial infrastructure work. No two days are the same, making this a great opportunity for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys working across different environments.
About You
- Qualified Distribution Line Mechanic (preferred)
- OR a Qualified Electrician with Street-lighting experience
- Current EWRB Registration
- A full class 1 Licence (Class 2 preferred)
- Strong understanding of industry safety standards and procedures
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a team
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
