Training and Development Specialist
Are you passionate about developing others and raising the bar on technical excellence?
We're looking for a Life & Health Best Practice Lead to join our Sales, Advice & Service team. This is an exciting opportunity to influence our Life and Health advisers capability by providing technical expertise, coaching, training, and best practice support.
You'll play a key role in building adviser capability, supporting quality outcomes for clients, and ensuring the consistent application of industry and regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with leaders, advisers, provider partners, Learning & Development, and Risk Quality to identify development opportunities and embed best practice across the business.
What you'll be doing
- Delivering technical coaching and training to our Life & Health Advisers.
- Developing and facilitating learning programmes, resources, and best practice guidance.
- Using risk quality insights and trends to identify capability gaps and training needs.
- Supporting adviser onboarding, accreditation, and ongoing professional development.
- Partnering with internal stakeholders and provider partners to ensure consistent and compliant advice practices.
- Translating complex technical and industry information into practical, engaging learning solutions.
- Championing continuous improvement and helping embed process and regulatory changes across the adviser network.
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Strong Life & Health insurance knowledge and industry expertise.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, training, or capability development.
- A passion for helping others grow and succeed.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- The ability to simplify complex concepts and tailor learning for different audiences.
- A strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and quality assurance.
- Experience working collaboratively across teams and influencing without formal authority.
What you'll bring
- Experience in a life and health insurance products
- Proven success developing capability and delivering training programmes.
- Insurance industry experience is essential.
- NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5).
- The ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
