Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

This is a busy role coordinating the activities, tasks and operations of circulation services to Library customers. You would be the face of the library, coordinating information requests and communicating with staff and students. The appointing salary for this role will be between $53,600 - $70,400 dependent on skills and experience. The Customer services coordinator is based in our Wintec | Te Pūkenga City campus Library, reporting to the Library Manager and will be responsible for: 

  • Ensuring a welcoming inclusive and comfortable space for all users of the library 
  • Overseeing the centralised customer queries received
  • Coordinating the operations of the circulation desk and the customer assistants’ tasks including Rostering desk cover for two libraries
  • Recovering library resources where necessary
  • Coordinating stationery orders
  • Continual improvement of services and updating associated processes

To be successful in this role, you will:  have a warm, engaging, and collaborative nature, able to think quickly and react to a variety of situations, utilising your knowledge of the processes you will have helped improve. You will need to have an interest in libraries and either have completed or are working toward gaining a library qualification. You will have had prior customer service roles at a supervisory level, and are comfortable working with others to provide an exceptional experience for our kaimahi and ākonga.  Good technology skills, particularly in the Microsoft suite, are essential.
