Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
We are looking for experienced legal professionals to lead one of our Public Law teams as Legal Team Manager Public Law 3, playing a key integrating role in our wider group to deliver a collaborative service. All legal teams work on a range of public law issues.
The role of a Legal Team Manager is to:
- lead the delivery of effective legal advice and representation to Ministers and government departments;
- provide professional leadership to counsel, including allocation of work, coaching, mentoring and performance management;
- provide high quality legal advice and partner with colleagues in other departments to identify and manage legal risk;
- contribute to the development and implementation Crown Law’s strategic direction;
- collaborate with other managers across Crown Law and colleagues in other agencies to support that strategic direction.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a busy team with competing priorities, and a strong interest in organisational leadership.

This role is Wellington based and located next to Wellington bus and train station.

- A starting salary range of between $195,538 and $224,373 with further room to progress. The appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
