Crown Law provides legal advice and representation services to the Government in matters affecting the executive government. The services Crown Law provides include matters covering judicial review of government actions, constitutional questions including Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi issues, the enforcement of criminal law, and the protection of revenue. Crown Law also administers the prosecution process in the criminal justice system, in particular, Crown prosecutions.
About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
Due to an internal secondment, we are looking for a talented Legal Administrator with strong administrative skills and experience in supporting busy team members to join us until December 2026.
This is an essential role that ensures the team runs efficiently. On any day you might be required to create and format documents; assist legal counsel in preparing for court hearings; arrange meetings; make travel arrangements; complete monthly billing and reporting; or assist with a range of other administrative support functions.

Our ideal candidate will be:
· Confident with their intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially in Word and Outlook.
· Experienced in providing administrative support to a busy team.
· A team player, able to build strong relationships with internal and external customers.
· Organised and able to prioritise competing tasks.
· Focused on exceptional service delivery.
· Energetic, with initiative and a drive to excel.
Prior legal experience will be beneficial, but it is not essential. If you can show you’ve got the ability to adapt and learn quickly, and if you’ve got the skills, experience and potential we’re looking for, then we would love to hear from you.
The appointing salary range for this role is $67,239-$85,599 based on skills and experience.

This role is Wellington based and located in Aitken Street/Kate Sheppard Place, near the Wellington bus and train station.
