Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

The Lecturer in Study & Employment Pathways (Levels 3 & 4) is a permanent full-time position to join our team at EIT, based at our Tairāwhiti Campus and off‑campus venues. This role exists to support the successful delivery of the NZ Certificate of Study & Employment Pathways, ensuring quality learning, strong learner engagement, and effective teaching practice that meets the needs of our ākonga. 

The appointing salary for this role will be negotiable, dependent on skills and experience.

This position sits within Te Kura Kaupapa Mātauranga, Pāpōri, Te Whare Tiaki Kararehe and reports to the Head of School.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Curriculum development, including preparing and updating course material.
  • Delivering high‑quality teaching using a variety of learning approaches including blended and flexible modes.
  • Supporting student wellbeing, including referral and liaison with student support services.
  • Assessment and evaluation, including moderation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Contributing to planning, professional development, team engagement, marketing, and school service standards.

He kōrero mōu | About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Teaching experience at tertiary level and familiarity with curriculum development (highly desirable).
  • Experience delivering learning across multiple modes (face‑to‑face and online).
  • Strong understanding of educational technologies such as LMS platforms, online facilitation tools, and digital content tools.
  • Excellent oral, written, organisational, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to plan, meet deadlines, coordinate delivery, and support student success.
