Lecturer Foundation Skills (Manawatu)

If you have an interest in supporting students to gain life skills, UCOL has an exciting opportunity available for a motivated and passionate lecturer, fixed-term (ends 20 December 2024), full-time position (40 hours per week) to deliver the New Zealand Certificate of Foundation Skills (Applied Sport and Exercise Pathway) Level 2 in partnership with the Lowie Foundation “Kick for the Seagulls” initiative being offered within prisons around New Zealand.

This particular position will be delivered within the Manawatu Community. All delivery and assessment resources are provided to you, and you will have full support from faculty staff. The programme recognises the importance of applying core capabilities such as confidence, basic knowledge and skills, and literacy and numeracy using an exercise and sport context. 

You will have diverse skills including a relevant tertiary qualification and ideally a sport and exercise background. It would be a strong advantage if you also held the NZ Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education (NZCALNE), the NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (NZCATT) or equivalent and unit 4098 workbased assessor, however these are not a requirement.

Skills & Experience

  

· A relevant tertiary qualification

· An Adult Tertiary Teaching qualification and/or the NZ Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education and/or unit 4098 workbased assessor or be working toward these

· Experience delivering at the tertiary level and/or extensive experience industry, including training in an applied sport and exercise context.
