Lecturer Architectural Technology
Can you carry out feasibility studies for small, medium and large buildings . . . . . apply comprehensive knowledge of construction principles and methodology to evaluate design for small and medium building projects in a design, building or construction related environment?
As part of our ongoing commitment to inspiring students and communities to succeed UCOL’s is seeking a highly motivated lecturer, or suitably qualified architectural technician or draftsperson to deliver within our NZ Diploma in Architectural Technology Level 6 programme.
This is a fixed-term (ends 31 Jan 2025), full-time position (40 hours per week). The ideal candidate will be a qualified Draftsperson or Architectural Technician or have experience working in an architectural or drafting firm; or teaching experience in architectural technology / drafting with a minimum three (3) years current industry experience.
This position, based at our Manawatū Campus in Palmerston North will require you to be hands on, facilitating one on one learning, mentoring, motivating and working with students individually, so your well-tuned rapport and communication skills will be required. As well as working with a dynamic team you will have the full support of the Academic Portfolio Manager with all delivery resources and practical assessments fully developed.

Skills & Experience
· Relevant tertiary qualification
· Experience delivering at the tertiary level and/or relevant industry experience (minimum 3 years).
· While not essential, an Adult Tertiary Teaching qualification and/or the NZ Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education and/or unit 4098 workbased assessor (or be working toward these).
