Due to an internal promotion, Port Taranaki is seeking a Fitter/Maintenance Engineer with supervisory experience to join our team. In addition to performing mechanical maintenance duties on plant and equipment, you will support the Mechanical Supervisor with the planning and delivery of effective maintenance plans. 

The role plays an active part in delivering cost control, procurement, and records management, so ideally you will feel comfortable using technology and systems to support your activities.

Familiarity with Health & Safety at Work Act and associated industry regulations is desirable. The role will also require you to participate in a callout roster. 

A successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant Level 4 trade certificate
  • Extensive relevant post apprenticeship work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in hydraulics and electronic control systems desired
  • Experience working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Excellent communication skills and preference to someone who has demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience 
  • A positive and pro-active approach toward teamwork

Desirable but not essential: 

  • Class 2 licence 
  • Forklift qualifications, including F endorsement

A NZ work permit and full NZ Driver’s license is essential.
