Lead Analytics Engineer

About the role
You’ll be joining an inclusive Data Analytics team, which is part of the wider Operational Excellence team, you will be creating a platform and data products that deliver real business insights to help drive the business forward.
This is an exciting new leadership role where you will define best practices, uplift engineering standards, and help build a high-performing analytics engineering capability.
This role that will play a pivotal role in delivering a modern, enterprise-grade data platform within our bank.
Who are you?
We’re looking for a talented individual with relevant data platform engineering experience who will translate complex regulatory and commercial requirements into trusted, reusable data assets, while enabling insight delivery.
You will have demonstrated experience leading development initiatives and mentoring team members, and the ability to nurture relationships across the bank to understand the context and needs of the business users.
You’ll help shape a modern cloud-based data ecosystem focused on scalable pipelines, reusable data products, governance-by-design, and AI-enabled analytics.
You will be a problem solver and take a future focus over the use of AI in both development and access of data.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Undertake the design, and lead the modelling and implementation, of data solutions in a modern cloud native data platform
- Drive engineering excellence and contributing to data governance, data quality, and master data management.
- Support the analytics engineers to establish, apply and enhance the Engineering best practice to improve the quality and consistency of data deliverables.
- Own the Quality Assurance outputs and actively work to enhance data quality across the data platform.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- 8+ years' experience of relevant data platform engineering experience.
- Advanced knowledge of modern data platforms, data modelling and development methodologies.
- A high level of experience with cloud development tools.
