Levin Home for War Veterans provides rest home, hospital, secure dementia care, respite care, and health recovery, tailored to individual needs. Our dementia care approach helps residents stay connected to the world around them, supporting improvements in confidence, memory, and wellbeing.
The Enliven Bureau team provide support to our residential homes at times when they need additional cover for leave, absences, special events or unexpected or high volume of workloads. They are an essential part of the wider Enliven team and ensure that our Homes can run seamlessly at all times and offer continuity of care and support to our Elders.
Mō te tūranga - About the roles
We are looking for Kitchen Hands, Cleaner and Laundry Workers. Shifts for these roles are amid 8 hours between 6am and 6pm on a casual basis. The role are as follows:
As a Kitchen Hand, you will be responsible for assisting the Food Services Team Leader to prepare and serve tasty and nutritious meals for lunch and dinner. Confidence in the kitchen with meal preparation is important along with the following:
- Prepare morning and afternoon tea, as well as daily meals
- Ensure meals are served at the appropriate size and temperature
- Maintain daily food and fridge temperature checks
- Operate within food hygiene standards and protocols
As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring our Home provides a safe, clean and hygienic environment where our residents can feel comfortable in all areas of the home and enjoy their environment.
- Deliver the highest standard of cleaning services within the Home.
- Work independently but also be part of a team.
- Follow direction and task delegation from the Senior Housekeeper to ensure prioritised and efficient execution of cleaning routines.
- Understand and follow cleaning protocols that support good infection control within the home.
As a Laundry Worker you will be responsible for a variety of routine laundry duties, including maintaining documents related to residents' laundering and distributing clothing and linen. You will also have:
- Previous experience in laundry practices in a residential, hospital or hospitality setting
- Knowledge and experience in commercial cleaning processes, but we can help you learn about this
- Take instruction and delegation from the Senior Housekeeper regarding priorities and routines
- You will be operating a variety of commercial laundry machines and equipment whilst undertaking a range of laundry procedures such as washing, drying, ironing, folding and delivering residents clothing.
