Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne
Non-profit - Social Services

Come join us to help restore the mouri, or lifeforce, of Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne.

This is a rare opportunity to join a small team of rangers leading innovative, meaningful ecological restoration at Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne – together we are striving towards a 500-year vision of restoration. You will have an important role in growing the expression of Te Ao Māori and Mātauranga Māori through your own work, and through your contributions to your team’s projects.

Day-to-day you will have the opportunity to be part of pioneering restoration projects while also supporting the sanctuary operations. This is permanent full-time position.

Being in central Wellington our team can be deep in the sanctuary valley working with endangered species by day and making the most of a vibrant city culture by night. Our supportive team and dynamic work programme provides a variety of experiences, networking, national connections and lifetime learning.

Please see Position Description for a full list of responsibilities. We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single requirement.

Like all members of staff at Zealandia, you'll be expected to actively uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, actively continue your journey of learning te reo Māori, maintain and promote exceptional health and safety, and support the maintenance of biosecurity in the sanctuary.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or valid NZ work visa.

Please email Ellen.Irwin@visitzealandia.com if you have any pātai/questions about this role.
