About us:

Based in beautiful Whanganui Te Oranganui is a kaupapa Māori organisation who offers a range of health and wellbeing services for whānau in the Whanganui region and surrounding districts. 

Te Waipuna Health is the General Practice arm with an enrolled population of 5,300 spread across two Practices. As a low-cost access health and wellbeing centre, we offer a newly refurbished Practice in a supportive and flexible environment.  

About the role:

As a Medical Receptionist/Admin Support at Te Waipuna Health, you’ll play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service to our patients and their whānau. This position requires the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while supporting the smooth, day-to-day operations of our health centre.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Welcoming and assisting patients both in person and over the phone
  • Scheduling appointments 
  • Invoicing and handling payments accurately
  • Supporting other administrative tasks as directed by the Kaitātaki - Administration Team Lead

About you:

We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Kaipāneke – Medical Receptionist / Admin Support to join our warm and supportive team. This role is ideal for someone who puts patients first and brings a positive, professional and empathetic approach to their work. You'll need to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with both staff and patients along with a genuine commitment to Māori health and wellbeing.

The ideal applicant will meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare related role 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A positive, professional attitude and ability to work in a team
  • Computer proficiency with a high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of Medtech Evolution experience is preferred, however training will be provided
