Kaihautū Waiora Whānau
Based in beautiful Whanganui, Te Oranganui is a kaupapa Māori organisation who offers a range of health and wellbeing services for whānau in the Whanganui region and surrounding districts.
About the role:
Te Oranganui is seeking an experienced and passionate Kaihautū for our Waiora Whānau team to lead our Healthy Families mahi across Whanganui, Rangitīkei, Ruapehu and South Taranaki. This is a key leadership role for someone who can inspire people, build strong relationships, and create the conditions for sustainable systems change that improves whānau wellbeing.
As the Kaihautū, you will provide operational leadership to the Waiora Whānau team, support innovation and experimentation, strengthen partnerships with iwi, hapū, marae, community leaders and national Healthy Families NZ networks, and help mobilise collective action in the places whānau live, learn, work and play.
We are looking for a collaborative, adaptive and courageous leader with experience managing teams in complex environments, strong relationship and stakeholder management skills, and a commitment to kaupapa Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity and whānau-led solutions. Experience in systems change, co-design, public health, community development or related kaupapa will be highly valued.
We are looking for someone who brings:
· Proven experience leading teams in adaptive, community, health, public health, kaupapa Māori or systems-change environments.
· Strong relationship management, influencing and communication skills.
· Confidence working alongside iwi, hapū, marae, whānau and diverse communities.
· A strategic, reflective and action-oriented approach to leadership.
· A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, whānau-centred practice and Māori-led solutions.
