Due to the growth of our local, national and international schedule of work, we are looking for a Junior Communications Consultant to join their team in Tauranga.

The Role

As a Junior Communications Consultant, you will provide advice to clients to inform and influence their communications strategies as early as possible. You will support the Senior Communications Consultants to deliver strategic communications to a range of influential clients in the private and public sectors, including Māori and iwi organisations.

The role is a support role where no two days will be the same. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Draft and execute documents 
  • Prepare and collate supporting documents for client meetings, and participate in client meetings as requested
  • Research and contribute to the writing of material for various client publications, such as newsletters, presentations, and annual reports
  • Engage with media organisations as required; produce timely and thorough media summaries
  • Identify and develop proactive story ideas for clients

Your Profile

You will have 1-3 years working in Communications or Media, with motivation to progress your career even further. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent time management, and attention to detail.  You will most likely have a relevant qualification in Communications/PR, Journalism or a related field.

Some knowledge and understanding of tikanga and te Reo Māori is helpful but not a necessity if you are willing to learn.
