Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Auckland. We are seeking an International Student Support Officer to deliver high-quality pastoral care and guidance to our international students, ensuring they have a positive and successful learning experience at EIT. The role sits within the International team, working closely with academic staff, student support services, and external agencies to support student wellbeing, engagement, and success. The position plays a key role in enhancing the international student journey from arrival through to study completion by providing responsive support, coordination, and advocacy.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $58,055 and $68,182, dependent on skills and experience.

The International Student Support Officer is based in our Auckland Campus, reporting to the International Business Operations Manager and will be responsible for:

  • Delivering timely and effective pastoral care, guidance, and support to international students
  • Coordinating student support services and liaising with internal teams and external providers to improve student outcomes
  • Developing and delivering orientation programmes, student engagement initiatives, and community activities
  • Managing student communications, feedback, and engagement platforms to enhance the student experience
  • Maintaining accurate records, reporting on student support matters, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with empathy and strong active listening abilities
  • Experience working with international students or multicultural communities
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by international students, including cultural adjustment and academic pressures
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, with experience in an education environment desirable
