Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role that plays an important part in supporting international education at Wintec by coordinating student exchange, staff mobility, Manaaki NZ Scholarships programme and travel for Wintec staff and students. Working with students, staff and partners in New Zealand and around the world, you'll help deliver outstanding international experiences while ensuring travel, mobility and scholarship programmes are delivered efficiently, safely and in line with organisational and regulatory requirements. From arranging international travel and supporting staff mobility to welcoming international students and scholars to Wintec, you'll play an important role in strengthening global connections across the organisation.

No two days are the same. One day, you might be helping a Wintec staff member prepare for international travel; the next, you're welcoming exchange students to New Zealand, supporting a Manaaki NZ Scholar, or working with an overseas university to coordinate a mobility programme. If you enjoy variety, building relationships and creating opportunities that make a real difference, this could be the role for you.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $71,000 and $74,000, depending on skills and experience.

The International Mobility and Student Engagement Coordinator is based in our International Centre, reporting to the International Student Services Manager and will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating travel arrangements for Wintec staff and students, ensuring bookings and related processes are accurate, timely and aligned with organisational policies.
  • Coordinating inbound and outbound student exchange, staff mobility and Manaaki NZ Scholarships programmes from application through to completion.
  • Supporting students, scholars and staff throughout their mobility journey, including travel, orientation, engagement and ongoing support.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with partner institutions, travel providers, government agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintaining accurate records, reporting and compliance while identifying opportunities to improve processes and service delivery.

He kōrero mōu| About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience coordinating travel, programmes, administration or student support services, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Outstanding organisational skills, high attention to detail and the ability to coordinate complex bookings, records and processes accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence working with students, staff and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond positively to unexpected situations.
  • A collaborative, service-focused approach and a genuine passion for supporting students and staff while building strong international partnerships.
