We are seeking an Information Management Specialist to facilitate and support the effective and efficient operation of FMG’s information management practices. You’ll use best practice, innovation, and technical expertise to help shape the way we manage and protect FMG's information. This role reports to our Head of Information Management and can be based out of either our Palmerston North or Wellington offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and continuously improving information management systems and processes
  • Consulting and advising business units on information management solutions
  • Training and supporting colleagues to manage records and information securely and efficiently
  • Developing and applying classification standards and security protocols
  • Championing the use of digital tools (Microsoft 365, Purview Compliance, ECM platforms) to streamline processes and support compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and legal requirements
  • Contributing to FMG’s strategy for managing both paper and digital information

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Hands-on experience with information management systems and digital workplace technologies
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Purview Compliance, and enterprise content management tools
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to the lifecycle of information
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a collaborative, customer-focused approach
  • Relevant qualification in information management (desirable but not essential)
  • Comfortable with compliance and supporting others to follow best practice
