BestStart Petone in Lower Hutt, Wellington is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our energetic and tight-knit team as our new Head Teacher in our Preschool Room. About the Role:  

This is a permanent position, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, working alongside our under 2 year old tamariki.

Our infant room is a safe, nurturing space where children can learn and make discoveries at their own pace. Our pēpi room kaiako support our youngest tamariki through providing a caring and nurturing environment, which recognises the importance of each individual child’s learning. 

Role requirements:  

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification  
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum  
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
