Mō te tūranga | About the Role  

As the Individual Giving Advisor, you will coordinate alongside the Community Engagement Manager to implement and lead new strategic revenue streams, including bequest and regular giving campaigns. You will develop and maintain donor relationships through regular communication and donor events, as well as researching and identifying new opportunities, revenue streams and developing new external relationships. 

As the Individual Giving Advisor, you will provide data and insights on portfolio activities through reports and completion of related administrative fundraising tasks to a high standard, including accurate and up to date record keeping of all contact and activities with all professional advisors, donors, and prospective donors. 

You will contribute to the activities of the wider team as necessary and encourage close collaboration and supportive relationships between colleagues. 

As the Individual Giving Advisor you will take all practicable steps at Fundraising Events and Campaigns to ensure all personal safety and the safter of others as a matter of priority and ensure that all hazards identified are eliminated, isolated or minimised. You will ensure that Hōhepa’s Health and Safety Policy is undertaken in accordance with procedure and communicated to staff, contractors, and other persons. 

The Individual Giving Advisor role will be a total of 20 hours a week with flexibility of days and working from home options. 

Mō koe | About You  

The amount of experience you have in each of the functions you lead may vary, but you will have significant experience in a few and the ability to develop and implement strategic programmes covering all functions - fundraising, communications, donor stewardship and engagement. You will hold a bachelor’s degree in relevant field or similar level of work experience with a minimum of four years fundraising experience.  

As an excellent communicator, you must be good at connecting the dots and identifying improvement opportunities. You will have excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate team player attributes with a high level of energy and honesty, integrity, and respect for all. 

You will have the ability to self-organise, make decisions, and deliver results. 

You will see success in this role with your ability to proactively trouble shoot and operate with emotional intelligence to understand, inspire and connect with key stakeholders and your team.
