Independent Member of Audit & Risk Committee
Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne is a world-leading ecosanctuary with a 500-year vision of restoration. The Karori Sanctuary Trust Board oversees the governance of Zealanidia and is central to achieving the vision and mission.
The Audit and Risk Committee reports directly to the Karori Sanctuary Trust Board on all aspects of risk management, financial sustainability, and audit functions. The Committee meets separately from the Board four times per year, with members also invited to attend the Karori Sanctuary Trust Annual General Meeting.
We are seeking an experienced governance professional to join the Audit and Risk Committee in a voluntary capacity as an Independent Member.
In this role, you will provide independent, impartial, and expert advice on matters considered by the Committee, contributing to the Trust’s long‑term resilience and its 500‑year restoration vision. The Independent Member actively participates in Committee meetings and reviews all relevant documentation. A more detailed role description is attached.
We would love to hear from you if you;
- have strong financial, audit or risk expertise (Chartered Accountant or equivalent experience);
- bring deep, relevant governance experience;
- live in Wellington or are able to attend Wellington-based meetings in person;
- are passionate about conservation and strongly aligned with Zealandia's vision and mission.
