Implementation Specialist – Supply Chain Maturity Project (Contractor)

National Support Office with Travel around NZ

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

Ready to be part of a major transformation that will shape the future of healthcare? As our Implementation Specialist – Supply Chain Maturity, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering a nationwide project that strengthens the way Southern Cross Healthcare hospitals manage their supply chains. Working alongside our project team, you'll help ensure our hospitals have the right products, in the right place, at the right time, enabling our clinical teams to continue delivering exceptional patient care. You'll become the go-to expert for supply chain processes, inventory management, and system improvements, while partnering with hospital teams to embed new ways of working and drive lasting operational excellence.

This is a highly hands-on role where you'll spend time on-site across our hospital network conducting stocktakes, improving inventory processes, analysing data, supporting product movements, and delivering engaging face-to-face training to Supply Chain Managers, Coordinators, clinical teams, and other hospital staff. You'll build strong relationships with stakeholders, champion continuous improvement, and play a key role in helping teams confidently adopt new processes and systems. Every hospital you visit will benefit from your expertise, energy, and ability to bring people on the journey.

This is a full-time, six-month contractor role offering the opportunity to travel throughout New Zealand and experience our hospitals firsthand. Regular travel is essential (typically Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work by prior arrangement), with assignments that may involve spending 3–4 months on-site, followed by 1–2 weeks back at home. If you thrive on variety, enjoy travelling, love working with people, and want to make a tangible impact on healthcare across New Zealand, this is the opportunity for you.

  • Confidence delivering engaging training and education to diverse teams, with the ability to simplify processes and support successful adoption of new ways of working.

  • A relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Experience within the healthcare sector is beneficial but not essential—we're looking for someone with transferable supply chain expertise and a passion for continuous improvement.
