About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on IT profession who will be trusted to take ownership of the IT environment, supporting users while improving environments, systems and processes.

This role is critical to ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our IT environment, supporting staff across RNZ and its subsidiaries.

You’ll be responsible for everything from infrastructure and networks through to security, and end-user support—ensuring systems remain reliable, secure and operating smoothly across the business.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving problems, variety, takes ownership, and thrives in an environment where they can make a real impact.

 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Responding promptly to user requests and resolving Tier 1 & 2 support issues
  • Managing and maintaining networks, servers, and cloud environments (M365)
  • Monitoring systems proactively to ensure uptime, performance, and security
  • Administering identity and access (including MFA and security controls)
  • Supporting end users across devices, applications, and collaboration tools
  • Investigating and resolving application and infrastructure issues
  • Performing routine maintenance, patching, and system updates
  • Documenting system changes and maintaining clear technical records
  • Continuously improving systems, processes, and security posture

What We’re Looking For

We’re after a true IT generalist—someone who can confidently run IT end-to-end in a small to mid-sized environment.

You’ll bring:

  • 5–10+ years’ experience in IT support, infrastructure, or systems administration
  • Strong capability across networking, servers, cloud (M365), and security fundamentals
  • Experience working in hybrid environments (cloud and on-premise)
  • Confidence being the primary or sole IT owner
  • A calm, organised approach with strong accountability
  • You may have worked as an IT Administrator, Systems & Network Administrator, Senior IT Support Engineer and likely in      environments where you’ve “handled everything IT.”

Key Traits for Success

  • End-to-end ownership of issues—you see things through
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause resolution
  • Excellent documentation habits
  • Security-first mindset (MFA, patching, endpoint protection)
  • Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proactive and pragmatic—you fix problems properly, not just quickly
