About Ascot Park Hotel

Ascot Park Hotel is a busy, full-service hotel and conference destination set amongst beautiful park-like surroundings. With 116 accommodation rooms, multiple dining and bar options, eight conference and function spaces, extensive catering operations including external catering, and a range of guest facilities, no two days are the same.

The hotel caters for everything from leisure and corporate stays through to conferences, weddings, gala dinners and major events, with facilities capable of hosting events for 8 to 600 people. Guest facilities include EMBERZ Restaurant and Bar, Sports Bar, a heated indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna and fitness centre.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and confident Hotel Duty Manager to join our leadership team and play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being at the centre of a busy hotel operation. You will take responsibility for the smooth and professional running of the hotel during your shift, working across Front Office, Accommodation, Food & Beverage, Functions and Events.

You will be visible and approachable, supporting our teams, engaging with guests and making confident operational decisions to ensure every aspect of the guest experience is delivered to a high standard.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting hotel teams throughout your shift, creating a positive and service-focused environment.
  • Taking ownership of the overall guest experience and ensuring service standards are consistently achieved.
  • Overseeing Front Office, Accommodation and Food & Beverage operations and responding effectively to operational priorities.
  • Managing guest requests, feedback and complaints with professionalism and sound judgement.
  • Coordinating the delivery of conferences, functions, weddings and other events.
  • Ensuring hotel facilities, presentation, cleanliness, safety and service standards are maintained.
  • Supporting effective labour management and making sound staffing and operational decisions.
  • Monitoring operational performance and taking action to maintain service and efficiency.
  • Ensuring all licensing, health and safety, security and hotel procedures are followed.
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for guests, staff and stakeholders outside normal management hours.
  • Supporting the Hotel Management team with continuous improvement and consistently high standards of hospitality.

About You

We are looking for a hospitality professional who is confident, composed and genuinely enjoys leading people and delivering exceptional service.

You will ideally bring:

  • At least two years' relevant hospitality management or supervisory experience, or a relevant formal qualification that may substitute for experience.
  • Proven experience in a hotel, restaurant, bar, functions or broader Food & Beverage environment.
  • Experience across Food & Beverage and Front Office within a hotel environment would be advantageous.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, coach and support a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong operational awareness, organisation and time management.
  • The ability to prioritise and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • A high level of personal presentation and professionalism.
  • The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • A current General Manager's Licence, or the ability to obtain one.
