The Opportunity
We are seeking a qualified Heavy Diesel Technician to join our Tauranga-based workshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining customer vehicles to manufacturer standards, ensuring reliability, safety, and performance.

You’ll work across the latest model vehicles, from light commercial units through to high-productivity truck and trailer combinations up to 50 tonnes. This role suits someone who works well autonomously, has a strong eye for detail, and takes pride in identifying faults and preventative maintenance opportunities while completing work efficiently and to a high standard.

Our workshop has a consistent workflow, and hours can be varied to meet customer demand. We are particularly interested in candidates who can offer flexibility for evening and weekend work.

This full-time position is ideal for an experienced Heavy Diesel Technician or a light automotive technician looking to transition into heavy diesel. Training will be provided for the right applicant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults through repairs, overhauls, and adjustments
  • Conduct test drives to verify vehicle performance
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns efficiently and accurately
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge through ongoing training

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • A genuine interest in the trucking industry
  • A recognised Diesel Technician qualification
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Experience in a similar light or heavy automotive role
  • Full driver’s licence (Class 2 HT licence preferred but not essential)
  • Minimum experience for roles 5 Years Post Apprenticeship.
  • Isuzu truck knowledge advantageous but not required
  • A positive, self-motivated attitude
  • A strong commitment to health and safety practices
