As a HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that our project meets the highest standards of quality and compliance by managing various electronic systems and processes.

What you will do

As a HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Helping site teams identify and manage risks in accordance with the HSW Act 2015
  • Ensuring each construction site is set up in accordance with the company’s SMS
  • Reviewing site-specific safety plans
  • Auditing the implementation of H&S systems and processes
  • Attending industry safety meetings
  • Investigating incidents and accidents
  • Inducting employees
  • Implementing and managing employee Health Monitoring Plans and ensuring relevant training and certifications are maintained
  • Assisting site team with risk management and developing task analysis
  • Preparing the monthly area report for the HSEQ Manager

What you will bring

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • To be flexible to travel around the region conducting internal and external audits to make sure the HS&E management system is working in accordance with expectations
  • To have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written and be able to work with people from different backgrounds
  • To have the ability to engage and influence the proactive uptake of Health, Safety, and environmental protocols with a large workforce
  • To be able to develop excellent functional working relationships and manage conflict resolution
  • To have a degree of analytical skill with an ability to identify trends and ensure resolutions are achieved while company goals/targets are being met
  • To have advanced level computer skills in all Microsoft Office suites with an ability to undertake and report on your safety audits
  • To be a respectful person with the skills to promote and develop the training of H&S in the construction industry while maintaining cultural sensitivity
  • To promote the importance and advantages of operating within a positive HSE culture.
  • To network with industry peers to collectively improve the performance of the local supply chain
  • To have solid legislative and technical HS&E knowledge. Be responsible for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of “best practice” HS&E strategies, guidelines, and systems
  • To have experience in conducting detailed accident/incident investigations
  • To be a details person, a self-starter, a person prepared to take ownership of your role at all levels
