Mō te tūranga  - About the role 

We are looking for a Health Care Assistant to work afternoon shifts 4pm to 10pm 19 hours per week. As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to our residents in their daily living and social requirements. You will also encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves. 

Your key responsibilities will be: 

  • Deliver the highest standard of personalised care to every Resident  
  • Support and encourage residents to maintain their independence and make decisions for themselves 
  • Assist and support the activities of daily living in a way that meets the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing 
  • Working under the supervision and direction of the RN.
  • Ensure resident’s needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner  

Mō koe - About You 

As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic, patient, and well-organised with excellent interpersonal skills. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. In addition, you will have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Healthcare Assistant in aged care within New Zealand
  • A minimum Level 2 Health and Wellbeing qualification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use various technology platforms as part of daily responsibilities
  • Willingness to gain further qualifications
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take a proactive approach
  • You will already reside in Wellington
