Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As our Healthcare Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality patient care by supporting our nursing team with a wide range of hands-on tasks. Working under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you’ll be actively involved in patient care—assisting with meals, hydration, patient transfers, and preparing rooms for new admissions. You’ll help ensure each patient’s experience is comfortable, respectful, and well-supported, while contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the ward. From transporting patients to theatre or radiology, to managing ward communications and maintaining accurate records, your role is essential in keeping everything running seamlessly.

Beyond patient care, you’ll help maintain a clean, organised, and safe clinical environment—ensuring kitchens, linen rooms, and equipment are well-stocked, tidy, and compliant with standards.
