About the role:

We are currently looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our fun, friendly team. This is a full-time position working rostered shifts. While our Healthcare Assistants don't directly take care of patients, there is a high level of patient interaction and this role is an integral part of our service.
You will work as part of a tight-knit multi-disciplinary team offering support and assistance to the Inpatient team nurses.

To be successful you will need:

• Previous experience within a healthcare setting (essential), preferably in a hospital environment
• Completed level 2 NCEA/6th form certificate
• A healthcare certificate or equivalent (desirable)
• Excellent communication skills with a high standard of written and literacy skills
• Excellent computer skills
• To be flexible/adaptable and to  respond positively to the changing needs of the business
• Hold relevant residency status to work in New Zealand

Southern Cross’ Gillies Hospital, located in Epsom, has been designed with a focus on short-stay surgery and family-centred care, with four theatres, a purpose-built day-stay facility and 16 inpatient beds with ensuite facilities. A centre of expertise for head and neck surgery and otolaryngology (ENT), it offers oral and maxillofacial, gynaecological, plastic and reconstructive and general paediatric surgery, backed up by friendly, highly professional nursing teams and systems designed to benefit patients of all ages.
