About the role

We are seeking a passionate Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Lower North Island-based Construction team for an 18-month period. You will be responsible for supporting and promoting safe working practices at Calder Stewart sites in the Lower North Island region. You will work with managers, clients, supervisors and sub-contractors to ensure that our company Health & Safety standards are met, and that all our employees and sub-contractors are kept safe at work. This role will see you working between three construction sites from Wellington to Palmerston North.

Skills and Attributes

Our ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to promoting safe working practices and will be meticulous when it comes to meeting legal and contractual requirements. Additionally, you will have strong organisational skills, be pedantic about document control, processes, and have the ability to train and mentor site personnel to achieve our Health and Safety obligations. 

We will also be looking for the following attributes from candidates: 

· Industry relevant experience

· Recognised Health and Safety qualification (desirable)

· A high level of computer literacy (intermediate to advanced)

· Environmental Management experience (desirable) 

· A current full driver’s licence (as you will be required to travel to our worksites).
