Health Promoter - CHB

Due to our current kaimahi leaving to pursue full time study, we are seeking a passionate and talented individual to be part of our Te Ara Waiora team.  This role provides educational support to whānau through the delivery of health initiatives and promotions, referrals to services and educating whānau to make positive lifestyle changes.

Based in our Waipukurau clinic, you will coordinate and facilitate various programs focused on healthy lifestyles, aligned with national health promotion initiatives.  
This is a full-time role Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm.

We seek a reliable, enthusiastic, and passionate kaimahi who shares our vision to enhance the wellbeing of whānau in the Central Hawkes Bay community.

 What we are looking for: 

  • Strong relationship-building and motivational skills
  • Experience in supporting individuals and whānau
  • Confident, friendly, and effective communicator
  • Empathy and rapport with diverse communities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and medical databases
  • Supportive of health initiatives like Immunisations and Health Checks
  • Non-smoker and physically active
  • Role models Health and Wellbeing
  • Proficiency in Te Reo and understanding of tikanga
  • Local community connections e.g. kohanga and marae
  • A positive attitude, uses initiative, proactive and self-motivated

What you need: 

  • Full, current Driver’s licence
  • Certificate in Health Promotion or similar [ideally]
  • First Aid Certificate [ideally]
