Health Educator - Immunisation [Fixed Term]
This role is part of the Immunisation Outreach contract which has been created to meet a key Government health target of 95% of tamariki fully immunised at 24 months.
The Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Kaiāwhina / Health Educator to drive this Immunisation Outreach in our local community.
Working with a Registered Nurse, this role will raise awareness levels of immunisation with the goal of creating multi-generational commitment to immunisations within whānau.
You will provide education and health literacy to whānau to protect against Childhood diseases in their tamariki and in the wider community.
Alongside empowering them to build healthier and safer lifestyles for their household.
This is a full-time role Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm for a fixed term to 30th June 2027.
What we are looking for:
· A Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or similar qualification
. Experience in Health Promotion and working in the community
. You live in our local community and know the area
· Experience in educating and motivating whānau
. You are professional in all aspects of your mahi
· You have high standards of confidentiality
. You have a current First Aid Certificate [Ideally]
· You have a current New Zealand FULL Driver’s License
· You can speak Te Reo and understand tikanga Māori (or be willing to learn)
