Empower Lives as a Health Coach
Due to our current kaimahi leaving the rohe, we are seeking a dedicated Health Coach to join our Te Ara Waiora Team in Waipukurau. This is a great role which also includes running our local kaumatua activity programme. This role is 36 hours per week [0.9 FTE]. Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am to 12.30pm.
About the Role:
As a Health Coach, you will empower whānau to take charge of their health by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to achieve their personal health goals. Working closely with our Clinical team you will provide additional support to help them make positive lifestyle changes and improve their health and well-being on an ongoing basis.
This role is also responsible for running our engaging kaumatua programme. This includes planning activities, outings, guest speakers and events for our two weekly kaumatua hui providing much needed support and manaakitanga to kaumatua in our local area.
What We Are Looking For:
- Completion of Recognised Health Coach Training [ideally]
- Certificate in Hauroa/Health, Nutrition, Sport and Recreation or similar field.
- Able to korero in Te Reo and knows tikanga Māori
- Understand the challenges for kaumatua
- A current New Zealand Full Driver’s License
- First Aid certificate [desirable]
- Commitment to our organisational values and kaupapa
- A warm, engaging personality with strong interpersonal skills
- Committed to health and wellbeing in your own life
- Experience in outcome-focused work with individuals and groups
- Professionalism in all aspects of your work, from presentation to practice
- Commitment to high standards of privacy and confidentiality
- Full Drivers Licence
- First Aid Certificate [ideally]
