Mō te tūranga  - About the role

This part time role is for shifts starting at midnight, working 46 hours each fortnight (six shifts). It is based at Coombrae Rest Home in Feilding.

As a Health Care Assistant, you will provide care and support to our residents by following Enliven’s Eden Principles. This means delivering a safe, secure and supportive environment in which we encourage our residents to maintain their independence and to make decisions for themselves. Your key responsibilities will be: 

  • Deliver the highest standard of personal care to every resident  
  • Support elders to have autonomy by doing as much as possible for themselves in a way each elder chooses.
  • Assist and support the daily activities in a way that meets the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing 
  • Take instruction and delegation under the direction of the Registered Nurse. 
  • Provide assistance when an emergency occurs or additional support is required by the team
  • Ensure resident’s needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner

Mo koe - About You 

Enthusiastic but patient, well organised with great interpersonal skills and a sense of humour. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect. Some experience in aged care is ideal, but if not we can help with that; having the right attitude and willingness to learn is just as important. 

 Also important: 

  • Ability to communicate with and respect the diversity of each person living and working in our Home
  • Careerforce Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate or the willingness to gain one through your on-the-job training.
  • Can demonstrate a good level of literacy and language skills   
  • Basic computer skills - you will need to be comfortable documenting notes and records electronically

  • A progressive pay scale that recognises your qualifications - $24.08 to $30.00 per hour, based on skills & experience
