About the Role

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to our residents in their daily living and social requirements. You will also encourage residents maintain their independence and make decisions about themselves as part of the Eden Alternative.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver the highest standard of personal cares to every Resident 
  • Support and encourage elders to maintain their independence and make decisions about themselves
  • Assist and support the activities of daily living in a way that meets the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing
  • Provide assistance when an emergency occurs
  • Take instruction and delegation of the Registered Nurse.
  • Ensure resident’s needs are attended to effectively and in a timely manner

This permanent vacancy works 39 hours per fortnight. The shifts are:

week one | Monday (0800-1330); Tuesday (0800-1330)

week two | Monday (0800-1600); Tuesday (0800-1330); Wednesday (0800-1330) Saturday (0800-1330)

About Us

Enliven is a not-for-profit service providing aged residential care to older people in the lower half of the North Island. About You

As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills and sense of humour. You will share our values of empathy, compassion, and respect.

A commitment to Enliven’s Eden philosophy of care is a key component of this role.

In addition, you will have:

  • Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate or working towards one
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in aged care in New Zealand Ability to work in a team environment 
  • Experience in working with hospital level residents 
  • Good written and documentation skills 
  • Basic computer skills
