About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to join our Finance team. This is a permanent full-time position, based at our Head Office in Tauranga. 

As Head of FP&A, you will be responsible for the budgeting, forecasting, reporting, analysis and insights for the Craigs group of entities. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role has people leadership responsibilities for an FP&A team (currently 4). This role will play a critical role in partnering with the business to ensure the Executive team and other leaders have the necessary information to make informed decisions. Other responsibilities include: 

  • Streamlining and overseeing financial reports, including best in class board reporting.
  • Leading the preparation and presentation of the annual budget.
  • Designing and implementing multi-year financial forecasting.
  • Developing robust and accurate financial models.
  • Partnering with the business to provide strategic financial support to pricing analysis and profitability optimisation to drive business performance and growth opportunities.
  • Leadership of the FP&A team, including ensuring clear responsibilities, coaching, reviewing development goals, cross-training, supporting team culture, and other leadership activities as required.

About you 

This role will suit a finance leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment in a collaborative team. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, organisation skills, and is a team player. Suitable candidates will have relevant experience in a similar leadership role, and possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance
  • Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Previous experience in a FP&A role, with experience managing forecasting, financial planning and budget processes at a company level
  • Strong people leadership skills, with experience leading and coaching a team of financial experts 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the business
  • Excellent report writing skills up to CEO and Board level, with the ability to communicate complex numerical and financial information in a simple and easy to understand way
  • Strong process improvement lens
