We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to take on the role of Head of Commercial and Facilities at Toi Ohomai. This pivotal position provides strategic and operational leadership across commercial functions and facilities management, ensuring safe, sustainable, and future focused environments that support high quality teaching and learning. You will lead commercial strategy, oversee financial performance, and drive infrastructure planning, working closely with senior leaders to support organisational priorities, investment decisions, and long term resilience.
You will also lead facilities operations, including capital works, asset lifecycle management, sustainability initiatives, and compliance, while fostering a high performing and inclusive team culture. Through your leadership, you will help shape Toi Ohomai commercial and physical landscape, delivering innovative, high quality services that support our communities and enable success for ākonga and kaimahi.
Ngā mahi | Key Responsibilities
· Deliver commercial strategy, financial performance, and investment planning to support sustainability and growth of facilities and commercial activities.
· Provide leadership of capital works, infrastructure planning, and facilities operations across all sites.
· Oversee asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and space optimisation.
· Lead procurement and contract management to achieve value for money and strong vendor outcomes.
· Ensure compliance, sustainability, and robust decision making through risk analysis, financial modelling, and business case development.

You bring:
· Proven leadership experience in commercial and infrastructure environments, with the ability to deliver strategic outcomes.
· Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and business case development.
· Experience in procurement, contract management, and vendor negotiation.
· Demonstrated capability to lead complex projects, including capital works and asset management.
· Commitment to sustainability, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and supporting Māori success within complex organisations.
