About the Role:  

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Teacher for our Over 2s space. Ideally, we are looking for someone with fresh ideas and a positive fun attitude, who will enhance our team culture. The ideal candidate will be willing to muck in and be hands-on when needed, fostering a sense of teamwork and camaraderie. Excellent time management skills are essential to balance the various responsibilities of the role effectively. The ideal candidate will be:

  • An effective communicator with good people skills
  • Knowledgeable of curriculum and lesson planning
  • Confident with previous experience supporting diverse learners
  • Someone who excels in implementing a curiosity-driven approach to curriculum and learning
  • Able to demonstrate a collaborative leadership style
  • A compliance superstar with excellent attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Over 2s classroom, creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that supports the curiosity approach, fostering children’s natural desire to explore and learn.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with additional needs and different cultural backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create and maintain an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates diversity.
  • Build strong relationships with children and their families, providing regular updates on progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Mentor and support colleagues and PCTs, promoting best practices in early childhood education.
  • Monitor and assess children’s development, providing individualized support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in early childhood education.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest research and best practices in early childhood education.

Role requirements:  

We're looking for a natural leader who shares our values and vision who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth.   As well as:  

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification  
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum  
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
