BestStart St Lukes is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our energetic and tight-knit team as our new Head Teacher in our Toddler room. 

Our focus is to provide quality education to the children in our community and we are excited to be involved in research around children's Oral language and Self-regulation- Kia Timata Pai. This research involves around 1,600 BestStart pre-schoolers! 

About the Role: 

An exciting opportunity has come about for a Head Teacher to join our team at BestStart St Lukes in our Toddlers room. We provide a wonderfully supportive culture across the whole centre and we are involved within our local community. We are searching for an experienced Teacher who has a good understanding of programme planning, assessment and leadership experience, as well as a drive and passion for growth. 

Our Center is a home away from home. We are looking for a fun-loving team member to join us in finding humor and belonging to a great team. Our centre is a very multi cultural centre and embrace all cultures with celebrations and parent contribution. We value our families and work together to achieve learning outcomes for all children.

We have a beautiful newly renovated outdoor play space with big beautiful trees which give us amazing natural shade. We are a well resourced centre and offer a wide range of fun and exciting experiences and opportunities. Located across the road from Westfield St Lukes, The Warehouse and Look Sharp, great for any last minute shopping or dinner on the way home.

This is a permanent position working 40 hours Monday-Friday

Role requirements: 

We're looking for a natural leader who shares our values and vision who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth.  

As well as: 

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification 
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum 
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard 
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
