BestStart Railway Road is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our energetic and tight-knit team as our new Head Teacher. Our focus is to provide quality education to the children in our community.

At BestStart Railway Road, we believe that teaching children to be excited about learning will set them up to be excited about learning for their lifetime which will inspire them to become future leaders. Toddler and preschool children are involved in local excursions on a weekly basis, planned in response to the children’s interests.

About the Role: 

This role is a permanent fulltime position working 40 hours per week.

Role requirements: 

We're looking for a natural leader who shares our values and vision who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth. 

As well as: 

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current Teacher Certification 
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum 
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard 
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
