Head Teacher (BestStart Paerata Rise)
About the Role
BestStart Paerata Rise is looking for a passionate and experienced Head Teacher to lead our Toddlers team. Our modern, purpose-built centre is growing alongside the Paerata community, with strong connections to local schools, parks, and whānau.
As Head Teacher, you will lead your team and collaborate with others to achieve the best outcomes for our people and tamariki. You will champion our centre philosophy, "Popoia te kākano, kia puāwai – Nurture the seed so it will blossom," ensuring it is reflected in everyday practice and the learning experiences you create.
We're looking for someone who is a collaborative team player with a passion for mentoring and supporting others. You'll bring a great sense of humour, positive energy, and the creativity to provide meaningful, engaging experiences for our curious toddlers, while inspiring those around you to deliver high-quality teaching every day.

This is a permanent 40-hour, Monday to Friday position leading our Toddlers room.
About You
You'll bring:
- A Bachelor of Education/Diploma in Teaching Level 7 (ECE or Primary) and current New Zealand Teacher Certification.
- ECE teaching experience and a strong understanding of Te Whāriki.
- Knowledge of programme planning, assessment, pedagogy, and current ECE Regulations.
- A passion for mentoring others and delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
- A collaborative leadership style and a commitment to building strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and your team.
