Head Teacher (BestStart Montel Ave)
About the Role:
At BestStart Montel Avenue, we believe in helping both children and educators flourish and succeed. We are looking for a warm experienced Head Teacher to lead our Toddlers, oversee daily practice, and ensure a high standard of care, learning, and well-being for all children across the centre. The role involves creating a safe, nurturing environment, leading a small team, and supporting babies early development through responsive, high quality care. Strong leadership, knowledge of early yerars practice, and excellent communication with parents are essential.
This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting educators
- ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment
- Supporting curriculum planning and daily practice.
- building positive relationships with families.
We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor of Education/Diploma in Teaching (ECE) – Level 7
- A current Teaching Certification/Registration (NZ)
- A strong understanding of the child-led curriculum, and a passion for extending learning through play
- Excellent knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and compliance
- A deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi in daily practice
- Someone who brings energy, empathy, and a focus on quality teaching and learning
