Infants Head Teacher – BestStart Kaiwharawhara

Are you passionate about nurturing pēpi and supporting their early growth and development? Do you thrive in a leadership role where relationships, collaboration, and high-quality teaching are at the heart of everything you do?  We are seeking a calm, confident, and relational Infants Head Teacher to lead our pēpi room at BestStart Kaiwharawhara. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced kaiako who is ready to guide a capable team and create a warm, responsive, and culturally grounded environment for our youngest tamariki.

About Us

We’re more than a centre, we’re a community. At BestStart Kaiwharawhara, we believe children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and excited to explore. Our centre offers a nurturing and inclusive environment for pēpi, toddlers, and young children up to 5 years old. Located in the heart of Kaiwharawhara, our teaching is inspired by the stories of Kupe and Te Wheke, celebrating the rich history and whakapapa of our local area. This deep connection to place supports children to develop a strong sense of identity and belonging from their earliest days.

Our multicultural teaching team takes the time to learn about each family’s background, values, and aspirations. We see every child as capable, competent, and full of potential, and we work in partnership with whānau to support their learning journey.
