We are seeking a calm, confident, and relational Infants Head Teacher to lead our pēpi room at BestStart Kaiwharawhara. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced kaiako who is ready to guide a capable team and create a warm, responsive, and culturally grounded environment for our youngest tamariki.

Our centre offers a nurturing and inclusive environment for pēpi, toddlers, and young children up to 5 years old. About the Role
As our Infants Head Teacher, you will lead the day-to-day operations of a busy infant's room, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating space where pēpi can thrive. You’ll work collaboratively with your team, applying a shared leadership approach while confidently taking responsibility for guiding practice and maintaining high standards.
What You’ll Bring
- A recognised ECE qualification and full certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in ECE, with strong knowledge of Persons Responsible requirements
- A genuine passion for infants and their growth and development
- Strong communication skills and the ability to guide and support a capable team
- Experience applying shared leadership within a team environment
- Strength in building positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues
- A reflective mindset and commitment to high-quality teaching and learning
