Whare Tipu Room

Our Whare Tipu room provides a fun, engaging, and nurturing environment where tamariki are encouraged to explore, discover, and develop a strong sense of belonging. Designed specifically for children aged 2 to 3.5 years, it offers a supportive transition from our nursery into our over-two's programme.

The room is thoughtfully resourced to meet the developmental needs of this age group, creating opportunities for tamariki to build confidence, independence, and meaningful connections as they continue their learning journey.

As Head Teacher, you'll lead the teaching team, inspire best practice, and help create high-quality learning experiences that empower tamariki to flourish.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a confident and collaborative leader who shares our values and vision, and who is passionate about supporting both children and teachers to reach their full potential.

You'll bring:

  • Bachelor of Education/Diploma in Teaching (Level 7 ECE) and current New Zealand Teaching Registration
  • Strong knowledge of programme planning, assessment, pedagogy, and curriculum
  • Solid understanding of Te Whāriki and current ECE Regulations, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance
  • A passion for teaching and learning, with a focus on delivering quality outcomes for tamariki
  • Proven leadership skills, or a readiness to step into a leadership role and support a team to succeed

Why You'll Love Working Here

Joining BestStart means becoming part of a whānau where people genuinely care, innovation is encouraged, and successes are celebrated. We value authenticity and believe that everyone brings something unique to our team.
