About the Role:  

BestStart Faringdon are looking for an experienced Head Teacher for their busy preschool space aged 3-4 year olds, who shares their centre values and vision. Ideally, they are looking for someone who would be confident implementing strategies to create a safe nurturing learning space and role modelling inspired and experienced teaching practice.

Their successful applicant will need to be:

  • experienced working in a leadership role in an ECE setting or be confident they are ready to step into a leadership role
  • bubbly, outgoing, kind, patient, and able to show initiative
  • calm under pressure and solution focused
  • a self-starter -creating exciting ideas and experiences to extend our children's learning 
  • aligned with our centre philosophy
  • have excellent time management skills (staying up to date with planning and documentation)

Role requirements: 

They are looking for someone who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth.  

Additional requirements include:

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification 
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum 
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard 
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality 

This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours, between 7am-6pm, Monday-Friday.
