We’re on the lookout for a Head Teacher to lead our preschool room at BestStart Dilworth Avenue. About the Role:
As Head Teacher, you will guide a passionate team in creating a rich learning environment where children are encouraged to lead their own learning through play, exploration, and connection. With amazing teacher-to-child ratios of 1:6, you’ll have the time and space to build strong, meaningful relationships with each child and their whānau.
Our experienced and supportive team is ready to welcome a confident leader who leads with empathy and professionalism. We’re looking for someone who brings solid curriculum knowledge, is an excellent communicator, and thrives in a collaborative teaching culture.
This is a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) position.
What We’re Looking For:
- A fully qualified and registered teacher (Level 7 ECE or Primary
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a teaching team
- Strong skills in programme planning, assessment, and curriculum delivery
- A deep understanding of ECE regulations, Te Whāriki, and high standards of compliance
- A natural communicator who builds strong, respectful partnerships with whānau
- Someone passionate about creating beautiful, engaging learning environments
- A calm, confident leader who leads with empathy and purpose
