BestStart Burnside is seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our energetic and tight-knit team as our new Head Teacher in our Kahu Room, working alongside our 3.5-5 year old tamariki.

You will be joining a beautiful, spacious purpose build centre with a large, inviting outdoor area. Situated right next to local school and Technology Park, perfect for excursions or family events.

About the Role:  

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

In the Kahu Room we have a developed transition to school programme which supports both children and parents with the next stage of their child’s education journey. Our environment is set to spark curiosity, encourage collaboration and strengthen communication. We focus on ensuring our children are respectful, confident, competent and responsible and who are flexible thinkers that have a real love of learning. 

Role requirements:  

We're looking for a strong, natural leader who shares our values and vision who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth. 

As well as:  

  • B Ed/Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current Teacher Certification  
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum  
  • Have prior Head teacher or leadership experience
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard  
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
