We are seeking an enthusiastic and people-focused HR Coordinator to join our People & Safety team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, creating positive employee experiences, and representing a well-respected Southland business within the wider community. 

This is a recruitment-focused role with an emphasis on community engagement, employer branding, and employee experience. You will play a key role in attracting talent to our businesses, building meaningful connections, and helping ensure every employee's journey begins with an exceptional first impression. Whether you're attending career expos, partnering with schools and community groups, coordinating recruitment campaigns, welcoming new employees, or organising engagement initiatives, you will be a visible ambassador for K G Richardson and our group of companies. 

We are looking for someone who thrives in a people-facing environment and understands that recruitment starts with strong relationships. Experience in recruitment is valuable, but we are equally interested in candidates who have built successful careers in community-focused, customer-facing, relationship management, or engagement-based roles. We are flexible on the hours of this position, ideally 30 – 40 per week. This position is based in our head office in Kennington, Invercargill.

 Key responsibilities will include: 

  •  Coordinating recruitment activities across the group.
  •  Actively promoting career opportunities and strengtheningour brand within the community.
  •  Building and maintaining relationships with schools, tertiary institutions, industry groups, employment agencies, and community groups. 
  •  Representing the company at careers events, recruitment expos, industry functions, and community engagement activities. 
  •  Supporting talent attraction initiatives and helping develop recruitment pathways across the group. 
  •  Coordinating new employee inductions and onboardings
  •  Coordinating employee events, recognition initiatives, and retention programmes. 
  •  Assisting in employee engagement activities and helping foster a positive workplace culture.
  •  Assisting with HR administration, reporting, and general inquires within the People & Safety team. 

 Our ideal candidate will have: 

  •  Experience in recruitment, community engagement, or another highly people-focused role. 
  •  A genuine passion for connecting with people and creating positive experiences. 
  •  Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. 
  •  Confidence representing KGR in both formal and informal settings. 
  •  Strong administration skills and attention to detail. 
  •  A proactive, energetic, and adaptable approach to work. 
  •  The ability to build rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds and industries. 
  •  A commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and delivering excellent service.
