Mō te tūraka mahi | About the role
Share your hospitality expertise, creativity and passion with ākonga (learners) through practical and theoretical teaching. Based at our Dunedin Campus, we have the following opportunities:
- 2 x full-time Lecturers, Bachelor of Culinary Arts
- 0.25 FTE Lecturer, New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 4)
The full-time roles include on-campus and distance delivery, along with Assessment of Prior Learning (APL). Across the roles, you will support teaching, assessment, learner progress, curriculum development, moderation and programme administration.
Ko wai koe | About you
You will bring a learner-focused approach, strong hospitality industry knowledge and practical experience. You will also have:
- A relevant degree for the full-time roles, preferably in Culinary Arts
- A Level 4 qualification for the 0.25 FTE role; a Bachelor of Culinary Arts is preferred
- Strong communication, relationship-building and collaboration skills
- Industry networks and confidence using digital technology, including AI
- An understanding of Te Ao Māori and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity and inclusive practice
- Sound health and safety practice
A teaching qualification, or progress towards one, is desirable. Experience in learner planning, assessment, moderation or research would be an advantage.
You will work collaboratively across the Food Design Institute and the wider College of Creative Practice and Enterprise, supporting Māori, Pasifika and disabled ākonga and their whānau to feel recognised, empowered and included.
